About Rusta

Rusta was founded in 1986 and our central warehouse in Norrköping – Rusta DC – is the hub of Rusta's distribution chain. The facility is one of Sweden's largest and most modern automated high-bay warehouses and plays a crucial role in Rusta's continued growth. Today, we have over 450 employees at Rusta DC in Norrköping.

Rusta stands for Simple, Brave, Engaged, and Together. These values have been developed by our employees and serve as guidance in our daily work, as well as in our continued growth and development.

We have a zero-tolerance policy against discrimination and abusive treatment and prioritize a safe and inclusive work environment. As part of our work environment efforts, we also conduct random drug tests at the workplace.

About the Role

We are now strengthening our maintenance department and are looking for two maintenance technicians with strong system and process understanding who want to be part of taking the next step in the development of our fully and semi-automated equipment, fully automated crane warehouses, and our new GTP facility (Goods To Person).

As a maintenance technician with us, you will work closely with operations in a complex and system-controlled environment. The focus is on preventive maintenance, systematic troubleshooting, and process monitoring, rather than heavy mechanical work.

You will be part of our Machine and Automation Department (MoA), which currently consists of seven technicians and is now being expanded. The role involves significant personal responsibility and good opportunities to influence work methods, structure, and technical development.

The position is a permanent employment that begins with a six-month probationary period. You will work on a fixed schedule either Mon-Fri 14:30-23:30 or Mon-Thu 05:00-14:00, Sun 07:00-16:00. This means no rotating shifts; you will work the same hours every week.

As a Maintenance Technician, you will:

  • Perform service and maintenance according to the established maintenance plan and handle urgent interventions

  • Perform and further develop preventive maintenance in our fully and semi-automated facilities

  • Document completed work in our maintenance system

  • Troubleshoot, restore, and monitor systems and process flows

  • Collaborate with production, operations, and external suppliers

  • Analyze disturbances and work with root cause analyses

  • Participate in improvement and development projects as well as new installations

  • Work at heights according to applicable safety procedures

  • Be a mentor during the introduction of new staff

  • Be responsible for cleaning and tidying technical equipment

  • Follow applicable safety procedures and work environment regulations

Since the position involves working at heights, a valid medical certificate from our occupational health service is required before employment can begin.

Your Profile

We are looking for someone who has worked in process or automation-related environments and is used to thinking in terms of whole systems, flow, and processes.

You are analytical, structured, and confident in troubleshooting by first understanding why something has happened – and then addressing it practically. You enjoy working both independently and in teams, have a positive attitude, and a strong work ethic. You treat colleagues and partners with respect and a service-oriented mindset – something that is crucial for success in the role.

To succeed in this position, we see that you have:

  • Technical education (YH or high school) in e.g., electrical engineering, automation, industrial technology, or maintenance and/or equivalent documented experience

  • Experience working in fully automated or process-controlled facilities

  • Good understanding of PLC-controlled systems and process monitoring

  • Experience with compressed air/pneumatics

  • Familiarity with systematic maintenance work and analysis

  • Good computer and system skills

  • Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written

  • Driver's license B

  • Forklift license A+B (if not offered training if needed)

The work can at times be physically demanding and involve repetitive tasks. Since it also includes climbing at heights, it is important that you feel this suits you both mentally and physically.

Application Procedure

In this process, Rusta collaborates with Skill. If you have questions about the position or the recruitment process, please feel free to contact the responsible recruiter Sofie Ilhed at [email protected] or 0790-062888.

The application deadline is 1/2-2026.

Welcome with your application!
